General
Different roof systems are installed depending on the body form and equipment:
- Sliding roof (1)
- Panoramic sliding sunroof (2)
- Soft top (3)
The roof systems allow the vehicle to be flooded with daylight and provide a convenient possibility for ventilation.
Function
Due to different actuation options and depending on the equipment installed, the sliding roof (1), panoramic sliding roof (2) or soft top (3) opens or closes.
Sliding roof
A roof system in which the movable part is made from heat-insulating safety glass. This movable part is moved under the roof panel when the sliding sunroof is opened.
Panoramic sliding sunroof
A roof system that consists of several glass panels and a sliding sunroof panel and through which light and/or air can enter into the vehicle interior. Depending on the vehicle, the sliding sunroof panel can be installed at the front in the panoramic sliding sunroof (2) and a fixed integrated glass panel at the rear. The sliding sunroof panel can also be installed in the panoramic sliding sunroof (2) between 2 fixed integrated glass panels.
Soft top
Movable part of roof system of a convertible or roadster consisting of the soft top canvas, soft top frame, soft top interior trim and where applicable rear window. The soft top (3) can be opened and closed.
