DYNAMIC SELECT function

The DYNAMIC SELECT function integrates essential vehicle systems that determine the driving experience. This affects the electric steering, the AIR BODY CONTROL system (with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)), the ECO start/stop function and the drive train of the vehicle. Also influenced here are the accelerator pedal response characteristics, the speed-dependent steering assistance and the transmission shift points. The ECO start/stop function in the "Individual" drive program is also activated or deactivated.

The following transmission modes are available:

The DYNAMIC SELECT switch (N72/4s1) can be used by the driver to shift between the various preconfigured drive programs and a particular drive program. The driver can press the DYNAMIC SELECT switch to choose his drive program and receives operation feedback in the instrument cluster (A1) as well as in the audio/COMAND display (A40/8). The head unit (A26/17) generates the signal for displaying the audio/COMAND display, and sends it over a high-speed video link (HSVL).

The signal of the DYNAMIC SELECT switch is read in by the left lower control panel (N72/4). The left lower control panel sends the signal over the LCP-LIN (LIN A3), the Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9), the telematics CAN (CAN A), the head unit, the user interface CAN (CAN HMI), the control unit for the electronic ignition lock (N73) and the suspension FlexRay (Flex E) to the control unit for the Electronic Stability Program (N30/4).

The Electronic Stability Program control unit sends the information for the selected drive program to the suspension FlexRay. The control units relevant for the new transmission mode receive the information and switch to the stored parameters for the particular transmission mode. The pre-configured parameters are listed in the following table.

Valid basic settings will be made for the chosen transmission mode each time there is a transmission mode change. As a result, the basic settings of the chosen transmission mode override the current settings.
