	Remove

2	Detach coolant line (7) from integrated starter alternator (A79).		AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
3	Remove heat shield (2).
4	Remove bolts (3).	Counterhold propeller shaft (1) with service brake. Otherwise the needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will be damaged. Aid of helper required.
5	Remove transfer case (9).	Model 213.061/261, 238.361/461 with engine 256 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR28.10-P-0100OLC
		Model 257, 290 with engine 256 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR28.10-P-0100MSA
6	Mark position of propeller shaft (1) relative to flange of front axle differential.	To be able to reproduce the plant installation position.
7	Take propeller shaft (1) off front axle differential and remove downwards.
8	Check seal bellows (6) for damage.	Model 213.061/261, 238.361/461, 257, 290 with engine 256 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) If damage is found, ↓ Install new seal bellows (6).

		Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)	BB00.40-P-0266-02A
	Install
9	Grease splined profile (8).	Klueber Microlube GNY 202	*BR00.45-Z-1071-06A
10	Position propeller shaft (1) using the marking on the front axle differential and tighten bolts (3) lightly by hand.	Replace screws/bolts (3).
11	Install transfer case (9).	Model 257, 290 with engine 256 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR28.10-P-0100MSA
		Model 213.061/261, 238.361/461 with engine 256 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR28.10-P-0100OLC
12	Tighten bolts (3).	Counterhold propeller shaft (1) with service brake. Otherwise the needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (1) will be damaged.
		Aid of helper required.
		Screw/bolt, propeller shaft to front axle gear	*BA33.30-P-1012-03G
13	Install heat shield (2).	Collar bolt, heat shield to holder of heat shield/retaining plate/front axle differential	*BA33.30-P-1009-03G
14	Mount coolant line (7) onto integrated starter alternator (A79).	M6X1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
15	Add low-temperature circuit coolant.	Model 213.061/261, 238.361/461, 257, 290 with engine 256.9 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR09.41-P-6834MSA
16	Check transfer case (7) for leak tightness.
17	Install center and rear lower engine compartment lining.	Model 213.061/261, 238.361/461 with engine 256 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR61.20-P-1105LWE
