Check Condition Of Elements For Shock Absorption And Springing - AP32.25-P-3255P

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
  Preparatory activity     
1 Lift vehicle with lifting platform.    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR00.60-P-1006A
INSPECT Check     
2 Check front shock absorbers (1) for leaks. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools. 
Swiveling inspection mirror with lighting, comparable to inspection mirror Hazet 1977-1
IMPORTANT A light oil film on the front piston rods (10) is permissible.
If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
AP32.00-P-3255-01A 
3 Check front piston rods (10) for surface damage, corrosion and deformation. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
4 Check that the front steel springs (2) are correctly seated in the front spring retainers (8). IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
5 Check front steel springs (2) for fractures. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
6 Check that the front boots (3) are seated correctly and check for damage. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
7 Check rear shock absorber (4) for leak tightness. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

IMPORTANT A light oil film on the rear piston rods (12) is permissible.
If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.

8 Check rear piston rods (12) for surface damage, corrosion and deformation. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
9 Check that the rear steel springs (5) are correctly seated in the rear spring retainers (11). IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
10 Check rear steel springs (5) for fractures. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
11 Check that the rear boots (7) are correctly seated and are not damaged. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
12 Check elastomer bearings (6) of rear shock absorbers (4) for cracks, deformation and wear, as well as for play by firmly pulling and pushing at rear shock absorbers (4). IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

IMPORTANT The elastomer bearings (6) must be seated with zero clearance in the housing eye and they may not be cracked or damaged.
If problems occur,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.

13 Lower vehicle with vehicle lift.
