The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

1. Expose spot welds on main floor (1) and cut off (areas F₁ , F₂ , and G₁ ).

2. Expose spot welds on main floor (1) and cut off (area J).

3. Expose spot welds on floor longitudinal member (7) and cut off (areas I₄ and I₅ ).

   

   Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

4. Drill spot welds on floor longitudinal member (7) with a diameter of 6.2 mm (areas I₁ , I₂ , and I₃ ).
5. Remove floor longitudinal member (7).
6. Expose spot welds on main floor (1) and cut off (areas H₁ , H₂ , and H₃ ).

   

   Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

7. Mark separating point for old part on main floor (1) and disconnect (area K).

   Do not cut too deeply.

   Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

8. Heat up main floor (1) in the cross-hatched areas.

   

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

9. Remove main floor (1).

10. Expose spot welds on main floor (1) and cut off (area L₁ ).
11. Mark separating points for new part on the main floor (1) and disconnect (areas M₁ and M₂ ).

    Do not cut too deeply.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

12. Remove main floor (1).

13. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas
14. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas on both sides (area O).
15. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
16. Apply zinc dust paint in the cross-hatched areas.

    Bonding surfaces may not be coated with zinc dust paint (area O₁ ).

    Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

    

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

17. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas
18. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas at the bottom (area P).
19. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
20. Apply zinc dust paint in the cross-hatched areas.

    Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area R).

    Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

    

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
