General
The taxi emergency alarm can be triggered by the taxi driver if he feels threatened by someone. At the same time, a radio help call can also be issued.
Activate taxi emergency alarm
The taxi emergency alarm can be activated using the button on the transmitter key or using a concealed button located in the driver footwell. Depending on the programming involved, a radio help call is also issued.
The taxi emergency alarm can be issued as a silent or as a full alarm.
Silent alarm
The silent alarm is intended to prevent the threatening person from noticing the taxi emergency alarm. The silent alarm is requested by a single press of the button on the transmitter key or the concealed button located in the driver footwell. The roof sign lamp flashes to alert other persons to the emergency situation. The silent alarm is terminated by pressing the emergency alarm system "Cancel" button.
Full alarm
The full alarm is requested by pressing twice on the button on the transmitter key or the concealed button in the driver footwell within a period of 3 s. In the event of a full alarm, the following functions are also triggered in addition to the output of the silent alarm:
- Exterior lights control (hazard warning lights and high beam flashing)
- Interior lighting control (interior lighting at front and rear)
- Acoustic alarm through the horns
The full alarm is terminated by pressing the emergency alarm system "Cancel" button.
Radio help call (accessories)
Depending on the programming involved, a radio help call can be issued separately from or together with the taxi emergency alarm. The radio help call can be activated using the button on the transmitter key or using a concealed button located in the driver footwell. The two-way radio then sends a radio help call to the taxi center. The radio help call is terminated by pressing the emergency alarm system "Cancel" button.
