General
The antenna system receives or transmits electromagnetic waves for various systems in the vehicle. Depending on the equipment, antennas for the following systems are installed in the vehicle:
- Cellular telephone system (telephone/emergency call)
- Radio (radio/TV)
- Key/KEYLESS-GO
- GPS
- WiFi
- Bluetooth®
- Near Field Communication (NFC)
- Stationary heater
The number and the position of the antennas is adapted to the vehicle's body form and therefore change depending on the vehicle model.
In order to improve the signal, amplifiers and interference suppression filters are also installed into the antenna system for some antennas.
