	Risk of burn injuries , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.	Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone.	AS49.00-Z-0001-01A

	Remove/install
1	Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105ME
2	Remove the rear engine support.		AR22.10-P-4360MRK
3	Remove temperature sensor upstream of gasoline particulate filter (B163/4).
4	Seal exposed openings with suitable stop/plugs.	Record plug	Fig 2
5	Remove screw/bolt (2).	Engine 264 in model 167 with code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (GPF) with sensor system)
6	Remove union nuts (3) of the pressure lines (4) and seal pressure lines (4) with suitable stop plugs.	Engine 264 in model 167 with code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (GPF) with sensor system)

7	Remove screws (5).	Screw, bracket for decoupling element to front exhaust system	*BA49.10-P-1009-02P
8	Open clamp (6).	Replace clamp (6).
		Clamp at turbocharger and catalytic converter/front exhaust line	*BA49.10-P-1001-02P
9	Secure rear muffler (7) against falling down.

10	Unhook rear muffler (7) from the elastomer bearings (8).	Thinly wet elastomer bearings (8) with lubricant.

11	Unhook exhaust system (1) from the elastomer bearing (9).	Aid of helper required. Thinly wet elastomer bearings (9) with lubricant.

	Check
12	Check elastomer bearings (8, 9, 10) for wear and damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ replace corresponding elastomer bearing (8, 9, 10).
	Clean
13	Remove combustion and corrosion residues.
14	Install in the reverse order.
15	Check installation position and clearance of the exhaust system (1).	If there is a problem, ↓ Re-align exhaust system (1).
	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16	Perform engine test run and check exhaust system (1) for leaks.
17	Install center and rear lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105ME
