	Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.	Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone.	AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
	Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts	Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels.	AS00.00-Z-0017-01A

	Remove/install
1	Remove center and rear engine compartment lining.	Install center and rear engine compartment linings only after the leak test.	AR61.20-P-1105ME
2	Open clamp (2).	Replace clamp (2).
		Clamp at turbocharger and catalytic converter/front exhaust line	*BA49.10-P-1001-02P
3	Remove screws (3) and release exhaust system (4) from the catalytic converter (1).	Screw, bracket for decoupling element to front exhaust system	*BA49.10-P-1009-02P
4	Remove upper engine cover.
		Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.	AP01.10-P-2405-01I
5	Release and disconnect electrical connectors (5, 6).
6	Remove plug housing (7) from the bracket (8).
7	Remove screws (12).	M6X1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
8	Remove nut (13).	M6X1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
9	Remove heat shield (14).
10	Release clamp (9).	Replace clamp (9). Clamp at turbocharger and catalytic converter/front exhaust line	*BA49.10-P-1001-02P
11	Remove screws (10).	Nut/bolt, holder for catalytic converter to crankcase	*BA49.10-P-1007-02P
12	Remove catalytic converter (1).	Install new seal (11) on the exhaust gas turbocharger.
13	Remove combustion and corrosion residue at connecting points.
14	Cover exposed openings with a suitable rag.
15	Install in the reverse order.
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16	Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness
17	Install bottom, center, and rear engine compartment trim.		AR61.20-P-1105ME
18	Install upper engine cover.
