Parking systems facilitate the process of finding and selecting a parking space, entering and exiting parking spaces or garages, and maneuvering.

The distance to an obstacle is determined on the basis of distance sensors and indicated to the driver visually and/or acoustically. The Active Parking Assist searches for and measures parking spaces, calculates a suitable route, and displays all of the information for this in the media display. It intervenes partially autonomously or autonomously in the vehicle's drive and control (e.g. by accelerating, braking, steering) and warns the driver about critical situations. Camera systems record the immediate vehicle surroundings and provides the driver with a real time image in the multimedia display. Dynamic guide lines indicate the route followed by the current steering movement.

Remote Parking Assist supports the driver when entering and exiting a parking space by remote control from outside the vehicle using a Remote Parking app for smartphones (only for MB connect markets). This function is activated in the vehicle after signing up for at least a three-year subscription in the Mercedes me portal.

The Memory Parking Assist detects recurring parking and automatically drives into the parking space or into the garage. The driver is asked whether they wish to perform automated remote parking.

"Automated valet service" is an automatic, driverless parking service. The technical system and its functionality are limited to the "Parking in multi-level car park" use case. The driver parks their vehicle within a predefined drop-off area in the multi-level car park and starts parking via the smartphone app. After the automated valet service infrastructure has confirmed the transfer of the vehicle on the app, the driver can exit the vehicle and leave. The vehicle is then started automatically and automatically moves to their parking space using the infrastructure installed in the multi-level car park. The driver can then arrange to have their vehicle driven to a pre-defined pick-up area using a smartphone app.

The active parking function (automatic parking space entry/exit) with code 235 (Active Parking Assist) is available in different ways in the model series depending on the model year code. In vehicles as of YoM/AJ20/1 (code 801) in combination with code 8B8 (Active Parking Assist reduction (UN R79)), there is no automatic parking space entry/exit. Vehicles with code 8B6 (Parking Assist with transverse function (UN R79)) only support entry into and exit from a parking space perpendicular to the roadway.
