Remove
- Mark position of rear propeller shaft relative to flange of transfer case in order to reproduce the factory installation position during installation.
- Remove screws (1 to 6) at transfer case and detach rear propeller shaft from transfercase.
Counterhold flange on transfer case with
retainer wrench.
Install
It is essential to observe the tightening procedure for the screws (1 to 6) securing the rear propeller shaft to the transfer case.
Otherwise, there are vibrations and noise development at high speeds.
The screws (1 to 6) securing the rear propeller shaft to the transfer case must always be replaced.
- Align markings with each other.
- Tighten screws (3, 6) to initial torque of 10 Nm and mark.
- Tighten screws (1 to 6) in numerical sequence
