Side Longitudinal Member Paneling Partially Prepare - Ar63.30-P-1040-02ME

The following operation steps are to be performed on model 167.1 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Mark separating points on longitudinal member paneling (1) and separate them (areas A, B), (areas A, C, D) or (areas B, C, D).
Transfer separation points from vehicle.
The following operation steps are shown on the most comprehensive repair on the left side of the vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces on longitudinal member paneling (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
Sand the bonding surfaces on the inner sides down to bare metal (area E).
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust (areas F).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
