The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install rear outer wheel well (1) and fit.
- Install rear fender and fit.
- Install seal.
- Install striker eye.
- Check gaps using
feeler gauge and adjust.
- Fix outer rear wheel well (1) in place.
- Remove striker eye.
- Remove seal.
- Remove rear fender.
- Drill rivet holes in outer rear wheel well (1) with dia. 6.7 mm (area A).
- Remove outer rear wheel well (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on outer rear wheel well (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched area.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install outer rear wheel well (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet outer rear wheel well (1) with rivets Ø 6.4x12 (area B).
- Outer rear wheel well (1)
(areas C).
- Apply 2-component adhesive to outer rear wheel well (1) in cross-hatched area (area D).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Bend back sheet metal lug (arrow).
