| 1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 2 | Detach side trim in area of left rear lamp unit (E3) or right rear lamp unit (E4) until nuts (1) are accessible. | Model 167 | |

| 3 | Unscrew nuts (1). | ||
| 4 | Remove left rear lamp unit (E3) or right rear lamp unit (E4) until electrical connector (2) is accessible. | Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function. |

| 5 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) from left rear lamp unit (E3) or right rear lamp unit (E4). | ||
| 6 | Remove left rear lamp unit (E3) or right rear lamp unit (E4). | ||
| 7 | Install in the reverse order. |
