Location
The door locks (1) are located in the respective door.
Structure
Depending on the equipment, the following components are installed in every door lock (1):
- Central locking motor (1.1)
- Additional door lock actuator motor (1.2) (vehicles with increased anti-theft protection)
- Main catch microswitch (1.3)
- Safety catch microswitch (1.4) (vehicles with power closing function)
- Inside door handle microswitch (1.5) (vehicles with power closing function)
- External operation microswitch (1.6) (vehicles with power closing function)
Task
The mechanical part of the door lock (1) connects the door with the lock striker, holds it securely closed or releases it again in the case of an opening request.
The door lock (1) has the following tasks:
- Definition of door status (open or closed) via status of main catch microswitch (1.3)
- Locking/unlocking of door via central locking system via actuation of central locking motor (1.1)
- Additional door lock via additional door lock actuator motor (1.2) (vehicles with increased anti-theft protection)
- Definition of detents during power closing (vehicles with power closing function) via status of safety catch microswitch (1.4) and main catch microswitch (1.3)
- Detection of door opening request via status of external operation microswitch (1.6) and inside door handle microswitch (1.5) (vehicles with power closing function)
The door control unit reads in the status of the respective switch and actuates the relevant actuators.
