Check Vehicle Level At Front And Rear Axle With Electronic Inclinometer, Adjust If Necessary - AR40.20-P-0301FR

INSPECT Check     
1 Check condition of vehicle. IMPORTANT Before the vehicle level check, it must be ensured that none of the suspension components are damaged or exhibit wear.
IMPORTANT For the vehicle level check, all vehicle parts must be installed and the vehicle completed and in a ready to drive condition.
The vehicle must not be loaded.
 
2 Check and correct tire pressure.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP40.15-P-4061A 
3 Drive the vehicle onto measuring station and secure using parking brake.    
4 Unlock turn and slip plates.    
5 Clean measuring ranges (a, b).    
6 Place measuring sensor (086a) in measuring range (a) and measure vehicle level at measuring point 1 (front left) and measuring point 2 (front right).

    Assign suspension data Model 290 AR40.20-P-0203FX
    Assign suspension data Model 257
NOTES
The connecting cable (086b) for the measurement sensor (086a) must face towards the vehicle center.

    Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate.
IMPORTANT Save measured values.
 
7 Place measuring sensor (086a) in measuring range (b) and measure vehicle level at measuring point 3 (rear left) and measuring point 4 (rear right).

    Assign suspension data Model 290 AR40.20-P-0203FX
    Assign suspension data Model 257 AR40.20-P-0203FR 
    NOTES
The connecting cable (086b) for the measurement sensor (086a) must face towards the vehicle center.
 
    Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate.  
    IMPORTANT Save measured values.  
8 Check maximum permissible difference in vehicle level between left and right side of vehicle at front axle. Assign suspension data Model 290 AR40.20-P-0203FX
    Assign suspension data Model 257 AR40.20-P-0203FR 
    IMPORTANT The specified test tolerance applies only when checking the vehicle level but not for calibration.  
9 Check maximum permissible difference in vehicle level between left and right side of vehicle at rear axle. Assign suspension data Model 290 AR40.20-P-0203FX
    Assign suspension data Model 257 AR40.20-P-0203FR 
    IMPORTANT The specified test tolerance applies only when checking the vehicle level but not for calibration.  
  Adjust     
10 Calibrate vehicle level using vehicle diagnosis system. Model 257, 290
with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL) When the vehicle level is outside the test tolerance.
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
11 Check and correct headlamp adjustment. Only if the vehicle level has been calibrated.
