Remove (picture A)
Place extraction and insertion tool (01) on press.
- Place spring control arm (1a) with chamfered side facing upwards on
extraction and insertion tool (01).
Place sleeve (02) on elastomer bearing (1b) of spring control arm (1a).
- Pre-tension press and line up spring control arm (1a) on
extraction and insertion tool (01) and
sleeve (02) on elastomer bearing (1b) with each other.
- Press out elastomer bearing (1 b).
Install (picture B)
Place extraction and insertion tool (01) on press.
- Place spring control arm (1a) with chamfered side facing upwards on
extraction and insertion tool (01).
- Position new elastomer bearing (1b) with crush ring (1c) on spring control arm (1a).
The marking (G) on the elastomer bearing (1b) must line up with the camber (H) on the spring control arm (1a).
Position elastomer bearing (1b) according to required camber correction:
Positive camber change: +3 mm = +16' (C).
Negative camber change: -3 mm = -16' (D).
The gap (F) in the elastomer bearing (1b) must always point upwards (in opposite direction to ball head on spring control arm (1a)).
Place sleeve (02) onto elastomer bearing (1b).
- Pre-tension press and align spring control arm (1a) to
extraction and insertion tool (01) and
sleeve (02) to elastomer bearing (1b).
- Press in elastomer bearing (1b) until crush ring (1c) is released.
- Release press and remove crush ring (1c).
- Position press again and continue pressing in elastomer bearing (1b) until the previously determined protrusion dimension (e) is reached.
Make sure that the alignment of the spring control arm (1a) to
extraction and insertion tool (01) and the
sleeve (02) to elastomer bearing (1b) has not changed.
