Remove/Install Elastomer Bearing On Front Spring Link - AR33.15-P-0001-01FR

IMPORTANT Use the following special tools:

Use the SPECIAL TOOL punch (01) (211 589 00 43 04) from the kitSPECIAL TOOL the press-in tool (211 589 00 43 00) for pressing in and out.

SPECIAL TOOL Use sleeve (02) (220 589 06 43 08) from SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool set (220 589 06 43 00) for extracting.

SPECIAL TOOL Use sleeve (03) (221 589 00 43 01) from SPECIAL TOOL extraction and insertion tool set (221 589 00 43 00) for inserting.

Remove (picture A) 

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Place sleeve (02), with chamfered side facing downwards, into press.
  2. Place spring control arm (2a) with chamfered side facing upwards onto SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (02).
  3. Place the SPECIAL TOOL punch (01) onto the elastomer bearing (2b) of the spring control arm (2a).
  4. Pre-tension the press and align the spring control arm (2a), the SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (02) and the SPECIAL TOOL punch (01) with each other.
  5. Press out the elastomer bearing (2b).

    Install (picture B) 

  6. SPECIAL TOOL Place sleeve (03) into press.
  7. Place spring control arm (2a), with chamfered side facing upwards, onto SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (03).
  8. Position new elastomer bearing (2b) with crush ring (2c) on spring control arm (2a).

    IMPORTANT The marking (M) on the elastomer bearing (2b) must line up with the camber (2) on the ball head (3). The elastomer bearing (2b) has to be positioned to match the necessary camber adjustment:

    Positive camber change: +3 mm = +16 (C)

    Negative camber change: -3 mm = -16 (D)

    IMPORTANT The wide bar (K) must always face in the same direction as the ball head (3).

    IMPORTANT The groove of the bore must face downwards.

  9. Place SPECIAL TOOL punch (01) onto elastomer bearing (2b).
  10. Pre-tension press and align spring control arm (2a), the SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (03), elastomer bearing (2b) and the punch (01) with each other.
  11. Press-in elastomer bearing (2b) until bearing core (4) makes contact with SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (03).
  12. Release press and remove crush ring (2c).
  13. Turn over spring control arm (2a) and place onto SPECIAL TOOL sleeve (03).
  14. Place SPECIAL TOOL punch (01) onto elastomer bearing (2b).
  15. Press the elastomer bearing (2b) into the center in the spring control arm (2a).
