Remove/Install Oxygen Sensor Upstream Of Catalytic Converter - AR07.04-P-0086MSA

WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper engine cover. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install upper engine cover after the leak test. AR01.10-P-2405MSA
2 Unclip electric line of lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) from bracket (arrow B).    
3 Release electrical connector (1) and disconnect.    
4 Remove lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) and seal threaded hole in catalytic converter with suitable stop plug. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Coat thread of lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter *BA14.00-P-1001-02C 
    Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Socket Fig 2
5 Cover sensor tip of lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) with protective cover. When reusing lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2).  
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Fig 3
6 Install in the reverse order.    
7 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Engine 256.9 in model 213 AD00.00-P-2000-04B
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Engine 256.9 in model 238 AD00.00-P-2000-06LWO
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   Engine 256.9 in model 257, 290 AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Perform an engine test run and check engine for functionality and exhaust system for leak tightness.    
9 Install upper engine cover.   AR01.10-P-2405MSA
