Remove/Install Front Engine Mount - AR22.10-P-4330MSA

Engine 256 in model 213, 238, 257, 290

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
    Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove charge-air distributor. Engine 256.9 in model 213, 238, 257, 290 AR09.41-P-8683MSA
2 Remove heat shields (8, 9). TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6X1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
3 Mount engine support fixture. Engine 256.9 in model 213, 238, 257, 290 AR01.10-P-2400-18MSA
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, upper struts to suspension strut tower mounting bracket *BA62.30-P-1001-02K 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir to crossmember *BA20.20-P-1004-02MR 
    SPECIAL TOOL Engine lifting device Fig 5

4 Remove front axle shafts. Engine 256 in model 213, 238, 257, 290 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)

5 Remove screw (3) of the right and left engine mount (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 256.9 in model 238 except code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) *BA22.10-P-1001-03O

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 256.9 in model 213, 257, 290 Bolt, front engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1001-03N 
    SPECIAL TOOL Engine mount wrench set Fig 4
6 Remove coolant hose (5) from coolant line (4) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. When removing right engine mount (1).  
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 6
7 Lift engine until left and right engine mount (1) is relieved. NOTES Raise engine carefully.  
    Damage may otherwise occur to lines and hoses.  
8 Remove screws/bolts (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 256.9 in model 238 except code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) *BA22.10-P-1002-03O

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 256.9 in model 213, 257, 290 Bolt, front engine mount to front axle carrier *BA22.10-P-1002-03N 
9 Remove left and right engine mount (1). IMPORTANT If necessary, press engine to the side.
IMPORTANT Observe environmental protection regulations for the disposal of the left and right engine mount (1).
Dispose of left and right engine mount (1) into mixed scrap.
IMPORTANT Always replace left and right engine mount (1) in pairs.
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.		  
10 Install in the reverse order.
