Location
The Audio/COMAND display is installed at the top center of the instrument panel.
Tasks
The Audio/COMAND display serves the uniform presentation of user-relevant operating and information windows as well as the presentation of video picture information.
The Audio/COMAND display receives the following signals:
- Tml. 30t and circuit 31
- Control signals (e.g. switching on) via the telematics CAN (CAN A) from the head unit (A26/17)
- Picture signals via the HSVL line (High-Speed Video Link) from the head unit
The Audio/COMAND display evaluates the input factors in the integrated microprocessor, and actuates the color screen.
Variants
The Audio/COMAND display is available in the following variants:
- 8.4" display (free standing, high resolution) (model 257 with code 506 (Audio 20 NTG 5.5 radio) except code 868 (Large display for Audio 20))
- 12.3" display (free standing, high resolution) (model 290, model 257 with code 531 (COMAND APS) or with code 868 (Large display for Audio 20))
The instrument cluster (A1) and the Audio/COMAND display are installed in a common housing. It is not possible to swivel the Audio/COMAND display.
