- Countersink rivet holes (area B).
- Remove side longitudinal member paneling (1).
- Deburr rivet holes in side longitudinal member paneling (1) and in body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints on which no adhesive is applied with zinc dust paint.
Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces.
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

- Install side longitudinal member paneling (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet side longitudinal member paneling (1) with a 6.4x12 rivet (areas D).
- Rivet side longitudinal member paneling (1) with countersunk-head blind rivet with a diameter of 6.4x14.0 (area E).
- Side longitudinal member paneling (1)
(areas G).
- Side longitudinal member paneling (1)
(areas H).
Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Surface grind inert gas welds (areas H).
- Solder surfaces of side longitudinal member paneling (1) with body solder and smooth (areas H).
A basic body filler can also be used as an alternative to the restoration of the surfaces with body solder.
