The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.
- Install reinforcement (2), fit, and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes in reinforcement (2) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (areas D5b
, D6b
, D7b
and F1b
).
- Drill rivet holes of mounting support (7) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (area E2b
).
Dimensions:
a1 = 36.5 mm
a2 = 25.5 mm
a3 = 42.5 mm
a4 = 26 mm
- Remove reinforcement (2).
- Deburr drill holes on both sides and remove drill chips.
- Grind drill holes, spot welds, and cross-hatched surfaces down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat cross-hatched surfaces, riveted joints and weld joints with zinc dust paint
The insides of the weld joint, to which the 2-component adhesive is applied, may not be coated with zinc dust paint (area J).
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to crosshatched area (area J).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install reinforcement (2).
- Rivet reinforcement (2) with Ø 6.5x14.5 mm rivets (areas D5c , D6c , D7c and E1c ).
