Notes on possible errors in the battery test with the Midtronics MCR 717

IMPORTANT Incorrect execution of the battery test can lead to incorrect statements about the battery condition.

When checking the battery with the Midtronics MCR 717, the following points must be observed:

Additional batteries

The Midtronics MCR 717 is only designed for testing starter batteries. Some additional batteries (e.g. traction battery) are designed to draw power over long periods of time. Therefore, no cold test current is specified on these batteries, only the open-circuit voltage can be checked.

IMPORTANT Measuring the open-circuit voltage is a simple and effective method of checking the condition of the auxiliary battery (e.g. traction battery).

IMPORTANT A built-in voltmeter is usually available in motorhomes for the measurement.

Resting tension State of charge

IMPORTANT The measurement should be carried out at an ambient temperature of 20 to 25 ° C and a few hours after the end of charging.
