	Check
1	Pull out safety knob (1)
2	Lift up coupling bolt (2) using handlever (3)	The coupling bolt (2) must be locked automatically in the raised position.
3	Push coupling bolt (2) upwards using suitable tool	The coupling bolt (2) should then be released from its catch and latch into the lowe bearing bore. When the coupling bolt (2) has reached the bottom position, the automatic safety mechanism must be operational. The snap button (1) must make full contac with the retaining sleeve (arrow A).
4	Push coupling bolt (2) upwards using suitable test with closed trailer coupling	The permissible vertical clearance must not be exceeded. Coupling bolt If side clearance is exceeded ↓ Replace trailer hitch subject to separate repair order.	*BE31.10-N-1001-01A
5	Measure coupling bolt (2)	Measure on crowned part (arrows B) using vernier caliper or gauge (4) in longitudinal and transverse direction. The minimum dimension must not be dropped below or the gauge (4) must not slide over it. Gauges (4) can be procured from the trailer coupling manufacturer. Coupling bolt If the minimum dimension is dropped below ↓ Replace trailer hitch subject to separate repair order.	*BE31.10-N-1001-01A
6	Check trailer coupling is firmly seated	Check bolts for trailer hitch to crossmember and crossmember on frame are firmly seated.
