Location
The MB Advanced Control control unit (N175) is installed in the seat base ex factory. At the workshop, it must be moved to a new position in compliance with the protection classes IP30 or IP31. It can be installed horizontally or vertically.
In order to ensure the protection class IP31 in the case of horizontal installation, the MB Advanced Control control unit must be installed with the closed housing side facing upward.
In order to ensure the protection class IP30 in the case of vertical installation, the MB Advanced Control control unit must be installed such that the arrow (1) on the housing faces upward.
Task
The MBAC (Mercedes-Benz Advanced Control) is an interface module that connects the camper vans to the inside and outside. Using app applications for a smartphone or tablet, an additional display or a head unit, it is possible to integrate conventional camper van systems such as cameras, heating, refrigerator, gas, fresh water, wastewater, etc.

Body manufacturer (ABH)
The housing of the MB Advanced Control control unit is used to protect the printed circuit board and is a two-piece component (upper and lower part). For cooling of the MBAC, the housing upper part has air slots or a cutout for a heat sink that is seated on the printed circuit board (passive cooling).
The upper part of the MBAC housing has an opening for operation of the DIP switch for the CAN termination (switch is seated on the printed circuit board).
The following connections are attached to the MBAC:
- At least 4 Ethernet interfaces
- Several digital and analog I/O interfaces
- MBAC CAN bus interface
- ABH-CAN bus interface
- LIN interface
- USB interface
- Bluetooth® interface
- 2 interfaces for the high-speed video link (HSVL)
Function
MBAC can be used to actuate a variety of different devices and functions for camper operation.
