The removal/installation of the prefuse box (5) is described in the superordinate service document.
Modification of the prefuse box (5) is shown by way of an example in the following operation steps on an indeterminate as-built configuration.
Depending on the vehicle equipment involved, there may be deviations to the as-built configuration or the number of fuse slots and nuts assigned.
- Remove nuts (6, 7).
Install nuts (6, 7).
- Remove busbars (8, 9) from prefuse box (5).
- Replace electrical fuse (10).
F150/4f7
Replace electrical fuse (10) with a 40 A fuse.
- Attach busbars (8, 9) to prefuse box (5) and fix in place using new nuts (6, 7).
Check for correct installation sequence of busbars (8, 9).
Do not kink any electric lines and ensure that they are routed without any chafing.
This prevents any damage.
- Retrofit electrical wiring harness (1).
Observe routing diagram.
Route both electric lines with contact sockets already attached through feed-through grommet into vehicle interior.
Replace cable tie on feed-through grommet.
- Fasten electrical wiring harness (1) using cable ties in sections, to the factory-installed electrical wiring harness.
Fasten electrical wiring harness (1) to plastic carrier (arrow). Use a cable tie with retaining clip.
- Connect electrical connector coupling (2) to plug (3) and fix in place at suitable position, using cable ties.
- Release and disconnect electrical connectors (RBA1, RBA2) from signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10).
- Disassemble electrical connectors (RBA1, RBA2).
To do so, release plug housing (arrows), guide out plugs and disconnect from each other.
- Install electric line "BU/WH" of electrical wiring harness (1) into contact cavity 60 of electrical connector (RBA1).
- Install electric line "BU/VT" of electrical wiring harness (1) into contact cavity 47 of electrical connector (RBA2).
- Assemble electrical connectors (RBA1, RBA2).
To do so, connect the plugs, then insert into respective plug housing and lock.
- Connect electrical connectors (RBA1, RBA2) to SAM (N10).
- Fasten electrical wiring harness (1) in sections, using cable ties, to the factory-installed electrical wiring harness and strap down excess length in a loop.
- Cut out air deflector plate in area (A) and deburr.
Cut out air deflector plate in area (A) far enough, until there is sufficient space for the electrical wiring harness (1).
This prevents damage to the electrical wiring harness (1).
