Due to recent events we would like to notify you of the following: With the introduction of the new Sprinter (model 907), and where engine oils are used as per oil specification 228.51, the starting distance has been reduced in combination with the maintenance codes JI5JI6/JI7 (see table). This means that if, as part of the service provider's confirmation, the oil specification 228.51 is selected, the starting distance listed below is then available to the customer. Due to the latest knowledge/checks, when using the oil specification 228.51 LT  (low temperature) with viscosity 05W30, the original starting distance has been enabled again. As the oil specification 228.51 with the LT  addition cannot be selected in the instrument cluster and a change is not scheduled for the CPC data entry, proceed as follows in order to obtain the starting distance corresponding to the maintenance code again with this oil specification:

After adding an engine oil with oil specification 228.51 LT  in the instrument cluster, select and confirm oil specification 229.51.
