Prepare C-Pillar For Installation - Ar63.20-P-0500-02LC

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separating point on C-pillar (1) and cut (area A).
Take separation points from vehicle.
Also cut C-pillar reinforcement (2).
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar reinforcement (2) and cut out (and B).
- Expose spot welds on C-pillar reinforcement (2) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area C).
- Remove C-pillar reinforcement (2).
After drilling out, the C-pillar reinforcement (2) can no longer be used. It must be replaced by a new part.
- Mark separating point on C-pillar reinforcement new part (3) and cut (area D).
Take separation points from vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces on new C-pillar reinforcement new part (3) and C-pillar (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust (areas F).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
