- Expose weld seams on rear crossmember (1) and cut (areas A1
and A2
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Position separating points along welds.
- Unscrew flow hole bolts (area B).
- Expose weld seams on rear crossmember (1) and cut (areas C1
, C 2
, C3
, C 4
, C5
and C 6
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
Position separating points along welds.
- Heat rear crossmember (1) in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove rear crossmember (1).
- Grind weld seams down flat.
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched area.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust.
