Prepare Rear Longitudinal Member Section - Ar64.20-P-1260-02LF

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear longitudinal member (2.1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area A).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.

- Mark separating point on rear longitudinal member end plate (2.4) and cut (area F).
Transfer separation point from vehicle.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear longitudinal member end plate (2.4) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area C1 ).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear bottom longitudinal member (2.3) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

- Grind mating surfaces on rear rear-end floor (3) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area E).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
