- Expose MIG solder seams on center reinforcement (6) and separate (areas A1
and A2
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and the strength be impaired (areas A1 ).
- Remove center reinforcement (6).
The following steps 3 to 4 are shown on the right side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the left side of the vehicle.
- Expose MIG solder seam on B-pillar reinforcement (4) and separate (areas B1
and B2
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and the strength be impaired (areas B1 ).
- Remove B-pillar reinforcements (4).
- Expose MIG solder seams on center crossmember reinforcement (2) and separate (areas C1
, C2
, C3
, C4
, C 5
, C6
, C 7
, C8
, C9
and C10
).

Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and the strength be impaired (areas C1 , C2 , C3 and C4 ).
- Expose spot welds on center crossmember reinforcement (2) and cut out (areas D).
The following operation steps 7 to 23 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side.
- Expose MIG solder seams on center crossmember reinforcement (3) and separate (area E).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and the strength be impaired (areas B1).
- Completely remove center crossmember reinforcement (2).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas F1
and F3
).
Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area F3).
- Expose spot welds on mounting consoles (5) and cut out (area F2
).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas F4
and F 5
).
Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area F5).
- Expose spot welds on mounting consoles (5) and cut out (areas F7
, F8
and F 9
).
Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area F8).
- Expose MIG solder seams on rear-end floor (1) and separate (area F6
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and the strength be impaired (areas F1 ).
- Heat areas (F8
, F9
) and remove mounting console (5).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (areas G1
, G2
and G3
).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area G4 ).
- Expose spot welds on struts (8) and cut out (areas H1
, H2
, H3
, H 4
and H5
).
- Expose spot welds on struts (8) and cut out (areas H6 , H7 , H8 and H 9 ).
- Remove struts (8).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area I).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (1) and cut out (area J1 ).
- Drill clinch connections on rear-end floor (1) with Ø 6 mm bit (area J2
).
The clinch connections can also be separated with a riveter for self-piercing and flow-form rivets.
- Drill self-piercing riveting on rear-end floor (1) with Ø 6 mm bit (area J3
).
- Unscrew flow drill bolts (area K1 ).
- Separate weld seams on rear-end floor (1) (areas K2
, K3
and K4
).
The following operation steps 26 to 29 can be shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side.
- Expose spot welds on cover for longitudinal member (9) and cut out (areas L1 , L2 , L3 , L4 and L5 ).
- Expose MIG solder seams on cover for longitudinal member (9) and cut (areas M1
, M2
and M 3
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components behind can be damaged and the strength be impaired (areas M1 , M2 and M3 ).
- Remove cover for longitudinal member (9).
- Unscrew bolts (10) for rear-end floor (1).
- Heat rear-end floor (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat rear-end floor (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat rear-end floor (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat rear-end floor (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat rear-end floor (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove rear-end floor (1) downward toward rear.
Helper required.
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to mating surfaces.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas N1 and N2 ).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
