Remove Rear CROSSMEMBER For Soft-Top Compartment - Ar64.20-P-1150-01LCA

1. Mark separating points on rear upper crossmember for soft top compartment top section (1.1) and cut (area A).

   Do not make the cuts too deep.

   Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

   Position separating points (A) along welds between upper rear crossmember for soft top compartment top section (1.1) and rear fender.

2. Expose spot welds on upper rear crossmember for soft top compartment top section (1.1) and cut out (areas B₁ , B₂ , B₃ and B₄ ).

   Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B2).

   Cut out spot welds on inside (areas B₁ and B₂ )

3. Remove upper rear crossmember for soft top compartment top section (1.1).

4. Expose spot welds on upper rear crossmember for soft top compartment top section (1.2) and cut out (areas C₁ , C₂ and C₃ ).

   The operation step is shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side.

5. Remove upper rear crossmember for soft top compartment bottom section (1.2).

6. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
7. Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
