Partially Remove Rear Longitudinal Member - Ar64.20-P-1260-01LF

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Expose spot welds on rear rear-end floor (3) and cut out (areas A1
and A2
).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (area A2 ).

- Mark separating point rear longitudinal member (2) between the two holes and cut (area G).
The distance between the cut and the outer edges of the holes should be at least 10 mm.

- Expose spot welds on rear longitudinal member (2) and cut out (areas B1
and B2
).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B2 ).

- Mark separating point on rear longitudinal member (2) and cut (area C).
- Bend back rear longitudinal member (2) in direction of arrow.
- Cut spot welds below out of rear longitudinal member (2) (area D).

- Expose spot welds on rear longitudinal member (2) and cut out (area E2 ).
- Expose spot welds on rear rear-end floor (3) and cut out (area E3
).

- Heat rear longitudinal member (2) in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove rear longitudinal member (2).

- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
Grind mating surface down to bare metal from bottom (area F).
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area F).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
