Remove Outer Rear Wheel Well - Ar63.10-P-0660-01LCA

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Expose spot welds o Strut (3) and cut out (area H1 ).
- Expose clinch connections on strut (3) and drill with Ø 6 mm (areas H2 , H3 and H4 ).
- Heat strut (3) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove strut (3).
- Mark separation points on side wall (2) and cut (areas A1
and A2
).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
If connections are to be offset observe overlapping of approx. 10 mm.
- Expose spot welds on side wall (2) and cut out (area B1 )
- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut out (area B2
).
Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B2).
- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel (1) and cut out (area B3
).
Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B3).
- Expose spot welds on side wall (2) and cut out (areas B4
).
- Expose spot welds on side wall (2) and cut out (areas C).
Cut out spot welds on insides.
- Expose spot welds on outer rear wheel well (1) and cut out (area D1
, D2
and E)
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas D2 ).
- Expose spot welds outer rear wheel well (1) and cut out (area F1
and F2
).
- Heat outer rear wheel well (1) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove outer rear wheel well (1).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surface with zinc dust paint (area G1 , G2 , G3 , G4 , G5 and G6 ).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
