The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 222 and must be performed in the same way on the right side in the event of damage.

- Expose and cut out spot welds on main floor panel (1) and lower longitudinal member (6) (areas A and B).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B).
- Expose spot welds on main floor panel (1) and lower longitudinal member (6) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area C).
Shown on model 222.0
- Heat lower longitudinal member (6) in cross-hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove lower longitudinal member (6).

- Unscrew flow-form screws (7) from connecting carrier (2).
- Expose and cut out spot welds on main floor panel (1), connecting carrier (2), front seat crossmember (3), rear front seat crossmember (4) and reinforcement (5) (areas D and E).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas E).
- Expose spot welds on reinforcement (5) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area F).

- Expose and cut out spot welds on main floor panel (1), connecting carrier (2), front seat crossmember (3), rear front seat crossmember (4) and reinforcement (5) (areas G and H).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas H).
- Expose spot welds on main floor panel (1) and reinforcement (5) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area I).
- Remove front seat crossmember (3) and rear front seat crossmember (4).

Expose and cut out spot welds on main floor panel (1) and reinforcement (7) (areas L).

Remove reinforcement (7).
- Expose and cut out spot welds on main floor panel (1) (area J).

- Remove connecting carrier (2) and reinforcement (5).

- Remove main floor panel (1).

- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal (area K).

- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
