Remove Suspension Strut Tower - Ar62.20-P-1232-01LF

MODEL 222 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

The operation steps describe the procedure for replacing each component. As a matter of principle we recommend coarsely separating the damaged area to allow better access to the connections for removal.

  1. Expose weld seams on suspension strut tower (1) and cut (areas A).

  2. Expose weld seams on front mounting console (2) and rear mounting console (3) and cut (areas B).
  3. Expose self-piercing riveting on suspension strut tower (1) and drill with Ø 6 mm bit (area C).
  4. Heat suspension strut tower (1) in crosshatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  5. Remove suspension strut tower (1).

  6. Grind weld seam residues down flat in crosshatched areas.

  7. Grind weld seam residues down flat in crosshatched areas (areas D).
  8. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in crosshatched areas (areas E).
  9. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas E).
