Install Suspension Strut Tower - Ar62.20-P-1232-04LF

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

When MIG welding ( ) prepare welds by grinding down to bare metal with stainless steel brush. Tack weld seams at start and end. Weld seam gap should not be larger than 1 mm. If required preweld.

1. Install suspension strut tower (1) with straightening bench, fit and fix in place.
2. Partially install front mounting console (2), rear mounting console (3) and upper front longitudinal member, fit and fix in place.
3. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on suspension strut tower (1), front mounting console (2) and rear mounting console (3) (areas A and B).

   Transfer position of present rivet holes in body to new part (area A).

4. Partially remove suspension strut tower (1), front mounting console (2), rear mounting console (3) and upper front longitudinal member.
5. Deburr rivet holes in suspension strut tower (1), front mounting console (2), rear mounting console (3) and body on both sides.
6. Remove drilling chips.
7. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Observe manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of adhesive.

8. Install suspension strut tower (1), front mounting console (2) and rear mounting console (3) with straightening tool, fit and fix in place.
9. Rivet suspension strut tower (1) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (area C₁ ).
10. Rivet suspension strut tower (1) with Ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area C₂ ).
11. Rivet front mounting console (2) and rear mounting console (3) with Ø 6.5x14.5 rivets (areas D).

    Ensure that water drains (arrows) remain free on longitudinal member.

    If water drains (arrows) are plugged:

    Remove excessive 2-component adhesive.

12. Front mounting console (2) and rear mounting console (3) (areas E).
