| 1 | Remove seat backrest trim. | Model 223 with code 292 (PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side) with code 735 (Additional scope of trim elements) |

| 2 | Disconnect ground line of battery of 12 V on-board electrical system. | AR54.10-P-0051S | |
| 3 | Unhook outer cover (8) of seat backrest in area of gas generator (1) until the gas generator (1) is accessible. | ||
| 4 | Disconnect electrical connection (2). | ||
| 5 | Release and disconnect electrical connection (3). | Fig 2 | |
| 6 | Release catch hook (7). | ||
| 7 | Unhook holder (6) with gas generator (1) upwards from seat backrest shell. | ||
| 8 | Detach spring clip (4) from gas generator (1). | Ensure that the spring clip (4) is seated correctly. Otherwise, a malfunction of the PRE-SAFE® pulse side may occur. |

| 9 | Pull distributor (5) with pressure lines out of gas generator (1) and remove gas generator (1) with holder. | Ensure that the distributor (5) is seated correctly. Otherwise, a malfunction of the side PRE-SAFE® Impulse function may occur. |

| 10 | Install in the reverse order. | ||

| 11 | Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system. | ||
