The following steps are shown on model 223.1 on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle. The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
The graphics show the vehicle from the mechanic's perspective. This perspective also specifies the direction in which the rivets must be installed.
- Install floor under rear seat (1), fit, and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes in floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.7 mm bit (area A).
- Drill rivet holes in floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.7 mm bit (areas B, C).
- Countersink rivet holes in floor under rear seat (1) (areas C).
- Drill rivet holes in floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.7 mm through existing holes in body (areas D).
- Remove floor under rear seat (1).
- Deburr rivet holes in floor under rear seat (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.
- Install floor under rear seat (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.3x12.5 rivets (area Y1 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (areas Y2
).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.3x12.5 rivets (area Y1 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (areas Y2 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.3x14.5 countersunk-head rivets (area Z1 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.3x17.5 countersunk-head rivets (area Z3 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.3x12.5 rivets (area Y1 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (areas Y2 ).
- Rivet floor under rear seat (1) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivets (areas Y3
).
