Blind rivet with countersunk head (T) 

1. T₁ = blind rivet with countersunk head 3.0 mm to 5.0 mm clamping range
2. T₂ = blind rivet with countersunk head 1.5 mm to 3.0 mm clamping range
3. X₇ = Flow-form rivet with countersunk head 7.1 mm to 8.3 mm clamping range

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle. The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

The graphics show the vehicle from the mechanic's perspective. At the same time, this perspective also prescribes the direction in which the rivets must be set.

1. Install floor above the rear axle (1), fit and fix in place.
2. Drill rivet holes in the floor above the rear axle (1) with ø 6.7 mm (areas A, B).
3. Countersink rivet holes in the floor above the rear axle (1) (area B).
4. Drill holes for screws in the floor above the rear axle (1) with ø 4.2 mm (area C).

   Max. drilling depth 18 mm.

5. Drill rivet holes in the floor above the rear axle (1) with ø 6.7 mm (areas D, E).
6. Countersink rivet holes in the floor above the rear axle (1) (areas E).
7. Remove floor above the rear axle (1).
8. Deburr rivet holes in the floor above the rear axle (1) and in the body on both sides.
9. Remove drilling chips.

10. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

11. Install floor above the rear axle (1) and fix in place.
12. Rivet floor above the rear axle (1) with rivets ø 6.5x12.5 (areas Y₂ ).
13. Rivet floor above rear axle (1) with ø 6.3x16 countersunk-head rivet (area Z₂ ).
14. Rivet floor above rear axle (1) with ø 6.3x19.5 countersunk-head rivet (area Z₄ ).
15. Shorten screws (2) to a length of 11 mm.
16. Position screws (2).

17. Rivet floor above rear axle (1) with ø 6.3x12.5 rivets (areas Y₁ ).
18. Rivet floor above the rear axle (1) with rivets ø 6.5x12.5 (area Y₂ ).
19. Rivet floor above rear axle (1) with ø 6.3x17.5 countersunk-head rivet (area Z₃ ).
20. Rivet floor above rear axle (1) with ø 6.3x14.5 countersunk-head rivets (areas Z₁ ).
