CROSSMEMBER Below Rear Seat Removal - Ar63.40-P-1194-01S

Model 223.0/1/9 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 223.1 on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

  1. Expose self-pierce rivets at crossmember under rear seat (1) and drill off with Ø 6 mm (areas A).
  2. Expose spot welds at crossmember under rear seat (1) and cut off (areas B).
  3. Expose spot welds at crossmember under rear seat (1) and drill out with Ø 6.5 mm (area C).
  4. Expose screw (2) at crossmember under rear seat (1) and remove.

  5. Expose self-pierce rivets at crossmember under rear seat (1) and drill off with Ø 6 mm (areas D).
  6. Expose screws (3) at crossmember under rear seat (1) and remove.

  7. Heat up crossmember under the rear seat (1) in the cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  8. Heat up crossmember under the rear seat (1) in the cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  9. Remove crossmember under the rear seat (1).

  10. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
