Model 223.0/1/9 

The following steps are shown on model 223.1 on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Unscrew screws at B-pillar (1) (area A).
2. Expose spot welds on the B-pillar (1) and cut off (areas B).
3. Press out self-pierce rivets at B-pillar (1) using rivet press tool (areas C).

4. Heat B-pillar (1) in cross-hatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

5. Remove B-pillar (1).
6. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

7. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
