Model 223.0/1/9 

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle. The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Expose self-piercing rivets in rear panel (1) and drill out with ø 6 mm (areas A).
2. Expose spot welds on rear panel (1) and drill out with ø 6.5 mm (areas B).
3. Press out self-piercing rivet in rear panel (1) with rivet press tool (area C).
4. Expose spot welds on rear panel (1) and cut out (area D).

5. Heat rear wall (1) in crosshatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

6. Remove rear wall (1).

7. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
