The following operation steps are shown on model 223.1 on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Remove nuts (3).

   With suspension strut installed.

2. 1. With suspension strut installed.

      Unscrew spacers sleeves (2a) on threaded pins f suspension turret web.

   2. With suspension strut removed.

      Install spacers sleeves (2a) on suspension strut tower with bolts (2b).

      Tighten bolts (2b) slightly by hand.

3. Mount carrier plate (2) on spacer sleeves (2a).
4. Slightly screw bolts (2c) by hand into spacer sleeves (2a).
5. Tighten front left longitudinal member extension (1a) with bolt (1g) on carrier plate (2).
6. Tighten center left longitudinal member extension (1b) with bolt (1g) on carrier plate (2).
7. Tighten rear left longitudinal member extension (1c) with bolt (1g) on carrier plate (2).
8. Tighten bolts (2b).

   With suspension strut removed.

9. Tighten bolts (2c).
10. Tighten front left longitudinal member extension (1a) using quick clamping device (1h) on longitudinal member.
11. Tighten center left longitudinal member extension (1b) with bolts (4) on longitudinal member.
12. Tighten rear left longitudinal member extension (1c) with bolt on longitudinal member.
