Brake Test - AP42.00-P-4290BS
Model 192, 206, 214, 223, 232, 236, 254
| Brake test on roller brake test stand | |||
| Risk of death caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand | Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand. | AS42.00-Z-0001-01A | |
| 1 | Move vehicle with front axle onto roller brake test stand. | ||
| WS42.00-P-0006B | |||
| 2 | Move automatic transmission to selector lever position "N". | ||
| 3 | Determine and document the braking characteristics and brake values of the front axle. | Between the tests, a waiting period of at least 15 s must be observed, during which the axle may not be driven by the roller brake test stand rollers. The drive train and brake system can otherwise be damaged. |
|
| 4 | Move rear axle of vehicle into roller brake test stand. | ||
| WS42.00-P-0006B | |||
| 5 | Move automatic transmission to selector lever position "N". | ||
| 6 | Determine and document braking characteristics and brake values of rear axle. | Between the tests, a waiting period of at least 15 s must be observed, during which the axle may not be driven by the roller brake test stand rollers. The drive train and brake system can otherwise be damaged. |
|
| 7 | Determine and document braking characteristics and brake values for electric parking brake. | Between the tests, a waiting period of at least 15 s must be observed, during which the axle may not be driven by the roller brake test stand rollers. Before operating the electric parking brake, the rear-axle complete wheels must be driven by the roller brake test stand until the vehicle has detected the roller brake test stand so that application of the brake pads is then slowed down. Otherwise damage may occur.
|
|
| 8 | Release parking brake and drive vehicle out of roller brake test stand. | ||
| 9 | Evaluate braking characteristics and documented brake values of service brake. | If there are brake value fluctuations or a pulsating brake pedal or if the difference in the braking effect of the service brake at the wheels of one axle is more than 25 % of the highest value, ↓ determine cause and correct. If locking limit is not reached, ↓ check whether the brake values still comply with the legal regulations. If the brake values do not meet legal requirements, ↓ determine cause and correct. |
|
| 10 | Evaluate braking response and documented brake values of electric parking brake. | If there are brake value fluctuations, pulsating operation or if the difference in the braking effect of the parking brake at the wheels of one axle is more than 50 % of the highest value, ↓ determine cause and correct. If locking limit is not reached, ↓ check whether the brake values still comply with the legal regulations. If the brake values do not meet legal requirements, ↓ determine cause and correct. |
