	Check
1	Assess brake lining thickness (1) of brake pads on front axle.	If necessary, use a flashlight (2) or a mirror (3). The thickness of the pad backing plate can be used as a reference when assessing the brake lining thickness (1).

2	Assess brake lining thickness (1) of brake pads on rear axle.	If necessary, use a flashlight (2) or a mirror (3). The thickness of the pad backing plate can be used as a reference when assessing the brake lining thickness (1).

3	Determine expected remaining distance of brake pads.	If the wear limit for the brakepads has been reached, replace brakepads. After obtaining special order. Otherwise the braking effect may be impaired and people, property and environmental damage may result. To determine the prospective remaining distance for each axle, refer to the brake lining with the least brake lining thickness (1). In order to avoid an unscheduled workshop visit between services, determine the remaining distance of the present brake pads. If the remaining distance determined is less than the next service interval, advise the customer to replaced the brake linings before the due service date.	AP42.10-P-4253-03EW
