Bonding surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components.
Otherwise, there may be adhesion problems.
Only use manufacturer approved adhesive kit from the replacement part system.
Otherwise, adhesion problems will occur.
Shown on panoramic sliding sunroof frame (2) as of modification year 22/1
- Open adhesive cartridges and insert into suitable squeeze gun.
Use
adapters to press out the remaining residual quantities from the adhesive cartridges.
When applying adhesive material, ensure that the adhesive retainers for the front fixed element have sufficient contact with adhesive material in area (4).
Otherwise, the function of the adhesive retainers will not be ensured.
- Cut application nozzle so that the adhesive bead can be applied with a height of 14 mm and a width of 8 to 10 mm.
The height of adhesive bead must be 3 mm when installed.
- Install application nozzle on adhesive cartridge.
- Fabricate reference adhesive bead.
The reference adhesive bead is used to check and confirm the adhesive curing of the adhesively bonded connection before moving the vehicle for the first time after gluing in the front fixed element.
- Apply adhesive material evenly to bonding surfaces (3) on panoramic sliding sunroof frame (2).
Apply adhesive material within 25 min and position front fixed element on panoramic sliding sunroof frame and fix in place as quickly as possible.
The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
Apply adhesive material in the form of an adhesive bead with a height of approx. 14 mm and a width of approx. 8 to 10 mm.
Immediately remove soiling caused by adhesive.
