| 1 | Adjust driver and front passenger seat into fully reclined position. | ||
| 2 | Disconnect ground line of battery of 12 V on-board electrical system. | AR54.10-P-0051S | |
| 3 | Release roof lining and lower far enough until clamps (4) and screw (3) are accessible. | Model 223 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) |

| 4 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) at gas generator. | Fig 2 | |
| 5 | Use suitable pliers to press tabs (5) together (arrows A) and remove clamps (4). | ||
| 6 | Unscrew screw (3) and unhook window airbag unit (1) from roof frame. | *BA91.60-P-1004-01I | |
| 7 | Remove window airbag unit (1) with gas generator from vehicle. | Carefully remove window airbag unit (1). Otherwise the interior equipment or paint may be damaged. |
