| 1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 2 | Open rear door. | ||
| 3.1 | Open flap (1). | Model 223 except code 224 (Rear individual seat design) |

| 3.2 | Open cap (5) of armrest. | Model 223 with code 224 (Rear individual seat design) |

| 4 | Open flap (2). | ||
| 5 | Release 12 V socket (X58/18x1) using pull-off device (3) and pull out far enough until electrical connector is accessible. | Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. Otherwise, the electric lines will be damaged, which will impair their function. |

| 6 | Disconnect electrical connector from 12 V socket (X58/18x1). | ||
| 7 | Unclip and remove clamping sleeve (4) by pushing back the two catch hooks (arrows). | When replacing 12 V socket (X58/18x1). | |
